Frequently asked questions
Is Ably down right now?
No — the Ably API is operational. Our last check succeeded in 54ms.
How does APIzone check if Ably is down?
APIzone continuously probes a public Ably API endpoint from its own independent infrastructure and records response status and latency. Status is derived from consecutive failures and latency deviation — not from Ably's own status page — so it reflects what we independently observe.
What does "degraded" mean for the Ably API?
Degraded means the Ably API is reachable but not fully healthy: some recent checks are failing, or response times are far above the normal baseline. It's a warning state between fully operational and down.
How reliable has Ably been?
Over the last 90 days, APIzone has measured 100.00% uptime for the Ably API. See the uptime breakdown above for 24-hour, 7-day, 30-day, and 90-day figures.
Can I get alerted when Ably goes down?
Yes. Enter your email in the alert box on this page to be notified by email the moment the Ably API goes down or is degraded, and again when it recovers. Slack, Discord, and Microsoft Teams delivery are also available.
